4. From a Kingdom to a Republic- How was Rome governed?


Rome was ruled by kings until 509BC. After that Rome was a republic- a state without a king or queen and where the people have some say (or vote) in how a country is governed. Rome remained this way until 27 BC when Octavian (Augustus Caesar) became the first Roman Emperor.

6. The fall of the Empire


There are many factors which culmulated in the downfall of the Roman Empire. The Roman Empire Game will provide you with some ideas of the difficulties and threats faced by the various Roman Emperors. Some of these threats inevitably contributed to the downfall of Rome.
